Shi by Bill Tucci

Japanese/American Ana Ishikawa witnessed the brutal murder of her whole family when she was only 10 years old. Her grandfather the warrior monk Sohei Yoshitora hid her in secrecy till she grew up learning the way of the Sohei; never forgetting her mother's Catholic lessons. She sets her mission-in-life as vengeance against the Yakuza who were responsible for her family's deaths. Ana grown up to transform herself into Shi -- Death -- for her enemies.

The Way of the Warrior is a straight and undeviating path. For Ana Ishikawa, the road to vengeance begins with meditation. Only a centered spirit can carry her to her destination... and yet her sould is torn by conflicting desites, by competing ways.
